Grant Accountant

Century Group is working with an amazing non-profit company near Downtown LA who is searching for an experienced Grants Accountant. This role works under the moderate direction and supervision of the Senior Accountant of Grants Billing and will be responsible for reviewing, monitoring, billing, collections and reporting on assigned government (Federal, State, County, City etc.) and foundation grants. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location. Expected starting base salary $32 to $35 per hour.

Job Description

• Manage assigned grants, including preparation of monthly expenditure reports, analysis and forecasting of program revenue and expenditures.
• Work closely with supervisor in financial communications to Program Directors, Managers, Supervisors and other applicable staff.
• Review employee expense reports relative to assigned funding sources for accuracy and appropriate documentation.
• Become well versed in the contract requirements of assigned grants.
• Maintain up-to-date analyses of assigned general ledger accounts and produce required journal entries for reconciling items on a monthly basis.
• Assist in the annual agency budgeting process.
• Develop financial reports for information on-demand using MIP Abila and/or Microsoft Office products.
• Maintain A/P and A/R files in an orderly and well-organized manner.
• Complete month end close tasks and duties within the timeframe identified.

Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or related field.
• 3-5 years’ experience or education in accounting or related field.
• Non-profit industry preferred.
