We are committed to creating pathways to employment for diverse populations and empowering them to achieve their professional goals.Job Description:We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Employment Specialist to join our team. As the Employment Specialist for TechNation Careers, you will play a crucial role in client intake and orientation, volunteer employment mentor onboarding, data collection and evaluation, business development and recruiting, curriculum evaluation, and job prospecting. The desired candidate will have familiarity with technical positions and experience working with diverse populations. TechNation is starting a technicial apprenticeship program and the ideal candidate would have experience working in the apprenticeship and internship space.Key Responsibilities:Candidate Referrals: Identify and refer qualified candidates from our database to partner employers and new employers based on job openings and skill sets. Assist clients in job searching and job application processes. This is often referred to as "reserve recruiting" and requires the Employment Specialist to reach out to companies with strong DEI hiring initiatives to ensure that candidates will have a safe and welcoming work envirApprenticeship Placement: Identify and establish partnerships for apprenticeship pipelines with business partners for entry-level job seekers.Employer Engagement: Meet with employers to explain the benefits of partnering with TechNation Careers, highlighting our commitment to diversity and inclusion. Job Matching: Conduct thorough searches of employer databases to identify positions that align with the skills and experience of job seekers. Support and Guidance: Provide coaching and support to candidates throughout the job search process, including resume reviews and interview preparation. Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with employers and community partners to expand job opportunities for candidates. Data Management: Maintain accurate records of candidate placements and employer interactions in our database. Reporting: Create weekly reports of job availabilities based on agreements that TN has with our employment partners. The Employment Specialist will be required to make new connections in order for the organization to have sustainable growth.Diversity Advocacy: Champion the needs and strengths of diverse populations, ensuring equitable access to job opportunities.
