In this highly visible and significant role, you lead the Restaurant Team in all aspects of Food & Beverage service to create an exceptional guest experience. You are an enthusiastic, positive role model, motivating the team by promoting the Sea Island tradition of genuine hospitality, ensuring distinctive and unique experiences. You create an atmosphere of anticipatory service as you design and execute delightful experiences for our guests and members.

You enthusiastically direct operations of the Restaurant using your comprehensive knowledge of Five Star service, developing strategies and programs to enhance the dining experience. You oversee the day-to-day Restaurant duties including station assignments, open/closing, and reporting. You maintain great situational awareness, remaining mindful of the podium, as well as tracking guest arrivals and departures. You are a liaison between the front and back of the house, orchestrating flow and timing, and streamlining output for the best guest experience. You actively participate in the control and issuance of all beverages and monitor and maintain inventory for all tableware and linens. As you are responsible for the presentation of the Restaurant, you take pride in having team members keep service areas clean, organized, and well stocked.

You lead staff development, including the selection and training of new team members. You provide meaningful feedback and coaching as you thoughtfully supervise Beverage team members, directing activities for quality and service that embrace our superior standards with warmth and comradery. You drive and control financial aspects of your Restaurant including maximizing revenue, expenditure control and labor efficiency.

You form effective relationships and work closely with all resort departments to maintain rapport and foster open communication. This involves attending related meetings and ensuring details are clearly relayed to create a seamless service experience. You set the tone by consistently upholding and ensuring compliance with departmental procedures, including standards for safety, quality, timing, attendance, and appearance. You take pride in making sure all work areas are sparkling clean, safe and well organized. You maintain a thorough knowledge of current services, amenities, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area. When needed, you act to promptly resolve guest concerns, coordinating necessary efforts through the appropriate departments and consistently follow-up to ensure resolution.

Job Requirements:

  • Three or more years in a leadership role in a high volume, fine dining restaurant, with well-rounded operations expertise to include leading teams, financial oversight, and excellent product and service.
  • Possess outstanding Food & Beverage service training and product knowledge.
  • Possess a valid Georgia driver’s license, and maintain all Sea Island driver requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and office equipment.
  • Physical strength and stamina to perform a Restaurant operations role, maintain ongoing, prolonged physical activity throughout a scheduled day to include lifting 50+ pounds, working indoors and outdoors in varying weather, comfort with noise levels, electrical, chemical, and fume hazards with or without a reasonable accommodation. Ability to kneel, squat, climb, stand, sit, balance, reach, stretch, bend, push, pull, and walk for prolonged periods.
  • Timeliness and flexibility – you agree to work a flexible schedule. We work at peak business hours, which for us includes weekends, early mornings, evenings, and holidays.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
