About the Role
Sellers Dorsey is seeking a Director of Accounting who will lead multiple facets of the accounting operations, identify opportunities for efficiencies, and lead the accounting team. You will oversee the firm's establishment and implementation of accounting policies and procedures. You will also be responsible for accounting operations and systems, analysis and report preparation, and leading accounting professionals and staff.

This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Philadelphia.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements.
  • Develop and maintain internal accounting policies and procedures as well as organizational adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and or other accounting standards.
  • Oversee payroll processing and ensure timely and successful filing of quarterly/annual payroll reports.
  • Supervise Associate Director, Accounting as well as oversee and review work submitted by accounting team.
  • Oversee administration of company's incentive compensation plans.
  • Prepare and review analytical accounting reports for senior management.
  • Produce and analyse monthly and annual projections and other accounting metrics for reporting and presentation to senior leadership.
  • Provide oversight including leading team and coordinating with various departments annual budget process and preparation.
  • Coordinate annual audits.
  • Participate in M&A due diligence and integration.
  • Monitor and implement emerging accounting standards.
  • Facilitate tax planning and compliance including quarterly projections, distributions, and filings.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assess and improve internal controls.
  • Accept additional ad hoc tasks or projects as needed to support the firm's accounting and finance functions.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Masters' Degree or certification such as certified public accountant (CPA) or certified management accountant (CMA) is preferred.
  • At least 10+ years accounting experience.
  • Proven leadership experience with at least 3 years in a people supervisory role.
  • Extensive business knowledge with comprehensive understanding of the organization and functional area.
  • Strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Experience overseeing payroll procedures and taxes.
  • Knowledge of M&A accounting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of partnership taxes is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • NetSuite experience a plus.
  • Rippling experience a plus.

Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated salary range for candidates is $140,400/year in our lowest geographic market range to up to $150,000/year in our highest geographic market range. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, the candidate's education, and the candidate's market location. Typically, candidates are not hired near the top of the range and compensation decisions are made based upon Sellers Dorsey's Total Compensation Policies & Guidelines. The successful candidate will also be eligible to participate in our annual Corporate Incentive Plan (CIP) that can range to up to 15% of annual salary.
Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, the successful candidate (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, and vision and for insurance plans offering short-term disability, long term disability, and basic life.
