About the position:
The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for the effective operation of the facilities efforts at Second Harvest Food Bank. This position's responsibilities include building and equipment maintenance, building security, facilities procurement, vehicle fleet, and the supervision of janitorial operations.

JOB SUMMARY:
Facilities (50%)
- Support the overall efficient function of the food bank facilities operation, vehicle fleet, and equipment.
- Responsible for coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance of the building, vehicle fleet, and equipment.
- Assure regular preventive maintenance and repair of buildings, mechanicals, grounds, and equipment; to include but not limited to: furnishings, warehouse equipment, machinery, HVAC, refrigeration systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and alternative energy systems.
- Responsible for facilities procurement; work with appropriate vendors to ensure required compliance in all areas.
- Work with the Facilities & Safety Director to create and manage the facilities budget.
- Track and report on maintenance requests and project progress.
- Provide input for the selection of contract services, vendor negotiation of service agreements.
- Oversee day-to-day monitoring of relevant vendor performance to assure full compliance with standards established within the service agreement.
- As assigned, participate in vendor contract administration (including scope of work, request for proposals, bids, deliverables, and evaluation of vendor performance).
- Serve as a member of the safety committee.
- Responsible for security of the facility; including maintaining fire alarm system, sprinkler system, fire pump, water tank, locks, security camera system, door hardware, and master keying.
- Identify potential safety hazards and troubleshoot with the appropriate department to engineer a solution.
- Work with Operations Team to maintain AIB compliance.
- Strictly adhere to and enforces all safety rules and Food Bank policies.
- Oversee maintenance of facility and operations to comply with OSHA, AIB, USDA, Feeding America, local Board of Health, food industry and other licensing bodies; and maintains proper permits.
- Provide training to members of the organization regarding safe work and/or prerequisite programs such as but not limited to Chemical Management, safety equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE), etc.
- Supervise Sanitation Specialist: hire, train, supervise, evaluate and motivate custodial staff.
- Ensure that custodial volunteers receive appropriate training on volunteer job duties and relevant food bank procedures.
- Supervise volunteer work as needed.
Education and Experience:
- Associates degree or minimum two years of experience in facilities maintenance.
- Experience in coordinating preventive maintenance programs.
- Experience in troubleshooting general warehouse equipment.
- Previous experience in vendor relationship management.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift.
- Basic knowledge of using and operating warehouse machinery equipment and hand tools.
- Understanding of CARB transportation regulations.
- Basic reading and writing skills.
- Good oral communication skills.
- Good interpersonal / customer service skills.
- Must have ability to use Microsoft Office Suite such as but not limited to Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams.
- Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with people from different racial, ethnic, and cultural groups and from different backgrounds and lifestyles.
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
- Must have access to a motor vehicle, as well as valid auto insurance coverage.
- Must have a valid California Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record, as documented by a current MVR (will be obtained by the Food Bank's insurance carrier).
