Marketing Manager – ShowsReports To: Director of Marketing & CommunicationsDepartment: MarketingClassification: Salaried, ExemptCompensation: $70,000-$78,000 based on experiencePosition Summary:The Marketing Manager – Shows, this detail-oriented and highly organized individual works with show promoters and management to fulfill all agreements for show announcements, pre-sale and on sale communications via press releases, website, emails, social media and extended marketing plans. Provide recommendations for media buys, create/execute promotional ideas, work with advertising agency and/or independently place media buys as needed.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Show Marketing & AdvertisingConcentrates on Toyota Arena as primary focus but is willing to help as needed at other venues or events.Performs specific marketing activities according to the specified marketing plan, as requested by Director.Serve as main point of contact for event promoters to ensure marketing plans are fulfilled and requests met.Uses marketing principles to promote venue and shows by negotiating and placing event advertising schedules, including print, radio, and digital media for each venue/event, as required.Understand our various target audiences and strategies/tactics to reach them. Enhance brand visibility, grow followers, engagement, and drive attendance to events.Communicates with outside advertising agencies and vendors regarding on-going campaigns.Works closely with venue booking team and aligns on strategies and tactics surrounding shows/events.Ideates, creates and implements grassroots marketing to increase ticket sales.Manage strategy and delivery of promotional collateral including, but not limited to, creation of promotional digital and sales collateral, signage, direct mail, email campaigns, website marketing and advertising.Responsible for Email Marketing efforts including drafting, targeting, and executing – monthly, weekly, and event specific eblasts. Understands email lists, segmentation, and A/B testing to optimize campaign effectiveness. Works with email marketing agency and email software (constant contact) as needed.Work with creative teams to develop strategic creative assets. Some graphic design will be necessary to size and post on website, social media, and in-house LED systems such as the scoreboard and ribbon.Writes and prepares copy for print/radio/TV spots.Works shows including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.Attend production and show security meetings. Manage/execute event-day marketing needs and social media. Handle various show marketing responsibilities including checking-in with media/master control and trouble-shoot any issues related to content and digital boards (scoreboard, fascia ribbons, concourse TV monitors, etc.).Partnerships & Media RelationsAssists event promoters in the coordination of media and or meet and greets.Coordinates press-related duties. Prepares and disseminates company and event press releases.Coordinates promotions and special events with event promoters and facility personnel.Keeps abreast of current and new sponsorship partners to ensure fulfillment of contractual items throughout the venue and within show marketing.Financial Record-Keeping & ReportingResponsible for tracking traffic and providing reports for all marketing campaigns and online assets.Responsible for generating and analyzing marketing data through variety of resources such as Ticketmaster, email databases, industry resources, etc.Keeps accurate records for advertising invoices and media trade accounts.Works with the finance team to provide purchase orders and invoice approval.Provides coordination and organization for event marketing financial settlements as required.Detailed record keeping, monthly reports, and organizing delivery of tickets to non-profit organizations granted the tickets, manages donation requests.Other duties as assigned.Teamwork & Professionalism:Adheres to and supports company policies and decisions in a positive manner. You may be asked to attend meetings with potential clients, city officials, or assist in organizing special events for sponsors.Maintain a high standard of professionalism, positive attitude, professional appearance, and work ethic.Qualifications & Skills:Ability to work long and irregular hours that may vary due to functions and may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.Excellent organizational, planning, and multitasking abilities, with keen attention to detail, necessary for planning and directing coverage at events.Excellent oral and written communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and cultivate relationships with stakeholders and constituents.Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands, frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.Strong ability to lead, develop and streamline processes required to manage multiple projects and tasks using strategic, critical thinking and problem solving. Ability to prioritize multiple projects.Ability to think creatively and innovatively and communicate effectively with a diverse range of audiences. Including the development of compelling written, oral, and visual media presentation materials.Strong analytical skills and proficiency using analytics tools to measure and optimize campaign performance.Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team. Self-starter that can work under limited supervision.Must have computer skills: Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Web Site CMS such as WordPress; Desktop publishing to include Adobe Creative Suite, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign; design software such as Canva; and Social Media Management such as Hootsuite.Experience with professional photography equipment, and photographing live events is preferred, not required.Must have professional presentation, appearance and work ethic required.Education and/or Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Advertising, Public Relations, or related field preferred. Or equivalent combination of education and experience required.3+ years’ experience in live event & concert marketing. Knowledge should include client service / account management, traditional and non-traditional advertising (from TV/video production to digital execution).Industry-related experience preferred (live entertainment, radio/television, advertising agency).Valid U.S. Driver LicensePhysical and Environmental Requirements:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the complex; travel between the different offices/venues/events we oversee; stand for long hours during the events; talk and hear. Extended keyboard and computer usage is also required. Heavy phone usage, some stooping, bending, and lifting may be required.
