Pay Rate Range: $20.00 to $25.00

Job Description:
The Logistics Technician will assist the Logistics Supervisor to maintain high-performance objectives for all departmental standards including safety, timeliness, quality/accuracy, security, and productivity. The Technician also serves as a mentor to the team. The Technician will be expected to work proactively on multiple tasks with minimal or no supervision.

Work schedule is 8 hours, 1st shift and or possible modified 1st shift to support late afternoon shipments. Overtime work may be needed periodically.

Responsibilities:

1. Drive a culture of “Do It Safe, Do It Right the First Time” with actions and words on a daily basis.
2. Safely and efficiently perform assigned processes to meet the required daily logistics activities.
3. Create an environment that fosters team and individual empowerment.
4. Participate in monthly safety meetings and promote a safe work environment.
5. Provide on-shift technical/process subject matter expertise.
6. Enhance shift skills and knowledge through coaching on process for logistics.
7. Work with Logistics Supervisor or Logistics Lead to ensure proper training and integration of new team members.
8. Certified in 49 CFR, 15 CFR, DOT, IATA, and IMDG regulations.
9. Retain good standing certification in 49 CFR, 15 CFR, DOT, IATA, and IMDG regulations.
10. Ensure all work processes and work instructions are followed.
11. Ensure all Environmental, Safety and Health standards and regulations are met or exceeded (OSHA).
12. Ensure all technicians wear the required PPE for the task at hand.
13. Maintain proper inventory levels of packaging and shipping supplies.
14. Act as the first responder for equipment, process and general logistics issues.
15. Facilitate forklift operations to load and unload carrier trucks.
16. Initiates and administers ongoing safety programs.
17. Assist with customer and/or supplier deliveries.
18. Complete annual personal goals to support achievement of site goals and complete personal development goals to support career development.
19. Archive all shipping related documents in ERP Report Archive.
20. Ensure accuracy of all transactions within ERP to guarantee operational efficiency.
21. Ensure accuracy of all federal filings (AES, etc.) to avoid regulatory repercussions (fines, commercial penalties, etc.)
22. Schedule vessel shipments in time to meet required shipping dates for on time order fulfillment.
23. Establish and maintain a strong relationship with other departments as needed on logistics processes/ quality issues.
24. Act as a backup to the Logistics Lead in the weekly production meeting to align logistics activities received with the site’s weekly needs.
25. Train Logistics Technicians on all Cylinder Handling functions and ERP programs.
26. Assist in tracking important logistics/supply chain KPI Metrics.
27. Assist in SOP and WI revisions as needed.
28. Monitor outgoing shipping requests to ensure on time shipping RM canisters, non-standard orders, and special requests as necessary.
29. Train Logistics Technicians on cylinder, canister defect/damage identification for signs of failure or leakage, to ensure the overall safety of warehouse/plant personnel.
30. Ensure all documentation including pictures of outgoing shipments are completed and archived.
31. Must be flexible and be able to work overtime hours when needed.
32. Required to complete all assigned training successfully and on time.
33. Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
34. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
35. Ensure that no alarms or interlocks are bypassed.
36. Comply with all company safety policies and MSDS Standards.
37. Perform all required trainings as they are assigned.
38. Ability to roll cylinders- Rolling cylinders requires an individual to tilt a cylinder slightly with one hand, and use the other hand to move the cylinder forward by rolling it.
39. Fitness for duty, including but not limited to: ability to lift 50 pounds and have the ability to climb ladders.

Required Qualifications:

1. Requires a high school diploma or higher.
2. 2-5 years of relevant industry experience in logistics operations (shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, inventory management).
3. Experience in filing IMO, AES, and ISF information.
4. Experience in working with forwarders to provide clearance information for imports as well as exports.
5. Ability to follow all work instructions and safety protocols.
6. Ability to understand the properties and hazards associated with chemicals and compressed gases.
7. Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
8. Prepare and confirm all shipping orders through ERP/ Ross.
9. Must be a quick learner with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain focus and adapt to a variety of challenges.
10. Attention to detail and ability to follow directions to meet deadlines.
11. Proven record of good written and verbal communication skills.
12. Computer literate with experience using Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
13. Computer literate with Google Docs, Sheets, & Slides.
14. Valid Driver license with Good Driving Record.
15. Must be able to move around a large warehouse for 8 or more hours in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
16. Must be able to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
17. Significant manual dexterity for keying in data for long periods of time.
18. Demonstrated customer service orientation.
19. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
20. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
