Are you the Competency Coordinator we have been looking for? In this position, you will be able to We are looking for someone who can be a dynamic team player, while bringing an energetic, creative and positive approach to the work we do with our clients!
Little Heroes Home is a small group home for latency-aged children between the ages of 5-12 years of age. We specialize in trauma informed treatment in a 24-hour comprehensive care home setting that has a full clinical, nursing, and direct residential care staff.
Schedule: Sunday - Thursday or Tuesday - Saturday
Salary: $23/hr
JRI Provides The Training So That:
  • YOU will be able to develop your skills in overseeing, planning, organizing, and implementing recreational and competency life skill-based activities for our youth! If you love to get kids excited about participating in various activities such as arts and crafts, physical activities, music etc. Then this position is for you!
  • YOU will help our youth discover what makes them feel competent and valued by working with them to develop life skills such as cooking, banking, vocational skills, and much more. Your day-to-day work will support clients in developing a sense of self and provide them the skills to be successful in their next steps.
  • YOU will be able to develop community connections such as volunteering, art classes, and athletics.
  • YOU will be able to create a safe and therapeutic community by supporting students in developing and by role modeling effective coping strategies.

Requirements:
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field required.
  • Experience working children in a residential program or mental health facility.
  • Experience with kids and planning activities; recreation and sports is a plus.
  • Maintains valid driver's license as transporting youth is required.
  • Available to work evenings, holidays, weekend shifts as required.
  • Able to work alone in an unsupervised environment.
  • At JRI, you will learn to provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations to provide the safest therapeutic atmosphere for our youth
  • Background and driving record checks will be performed.
