The Health Sensing team develops groundbreaking health sensors that are central to helping our customers live a healthier lifestyle. We are looking for a sensor engineer with a desire to innovate in the space of optical sensors and health sensing features. You will work closely with internal and cross-functional teams to tackle challenges involving sensors and algorithms. You will play a key role in developing and quantifying the performance of hardware solutions to enable optical sensing features.
Description
The team you will join is responsible for designing and delivering health features for Apple's wearable devices. We are highly collaborative and partner with a variety of teams across Apple. The responsibilities of this position include the following:
- Contribute to the development of sensor architectures, collaborating with cross-functional teams responsible for the electronics, optics, physiological modeling, algorithms, and firmware.
- Develop computer models and maintain simulation code to predict system/user performance across a range of operating conditions including HW/FW settings, user physiology, ambient conditions, etc.
- Conduct engineering analyses related to the design, operation, and performance of the sensor.
- Evaluate the impact of design choices on engineering metrics; propose trade-offs; and communicate the results to cross-functional teams.
- Define, author, and publish key specifications and other documentation needed to support the health sensor development process.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience writing, debugging, and maintaining computer simulation code.
- Familiar with signal processing.
- Software development skills, with proficiency in Python, Matlab, and/or C++.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant proven experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with sensor signals and non-idealities, noisy data.
- Experience with sensor interfacing, signal conditioning and signal-to-noise analysis.
- Deep familiarity with statistical analysis.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills.
Additional Requirements
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
