Summary
The Contract Investigative Technician is responsible for conducting record checks for federal background investigations on a contract basis in direct support of national security and suitability investigations.
Essential Tasks (minimum requirements) to be performed with or without reasonable accommodation:
• Conduct fieldwork, specifically retrieval of records, to produce reports of investigations (ROIs) in compliance with all laws, federal standards, and federal agency regulations.
• Accept fieldwork assignments for travel throughout the geographic area of responsibility.
• Opportunities for temporary duty yonder (TDY) assignments outside of assigned geographic area.
• Meet investigative deadlines as assigned by ADC LTD NM.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communications skills and exhibit professional demeanor in a time-sensitive work environment.
• Monitoring, maintaining, conveying and appropriately destroying data and documents.
• Meet government and industry standards for quality, integrity, timeliness and productivity.
• Maintain compliance with all mandatory and assigned training, security, and credential requirements.
• Develop and maintain professional, courteous, and cooperative working relationships with ADC employees and contractors.
• Report trends and updates to work environment observed in the field.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities related to the position as required.

Education, Experience and Skills
• Minimum of an associate's degree from an accredited university; or three years general investigative experience (i.e. military, local, state or Federal law enforcement or investigative functions).
• Ability to obtain and maintain favorable adjudication of a Top Secret security clearance.
o Ability to handle proprietary, sensitive and confidential information.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required Investigative Technician (IT) credentials or similar.
• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor with strong customer service and interpersonal skills.• Proficiency in common workplace hardware and software, including Microsoft Word, Excel and computer databases.
• Excellent organization and prioritization skills.
• Strong analytical skills and detailed-oriented.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including highly technical writing, proofreading, and editing.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
• Thorough understanding of federal investigative standards, including the investigative tiers, issue resolution and adjudication.
• Thorough understanding of ADC LTD NM investigative process and procedures.
• Familiarity with federal and ADC LTD NM security standards.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit for long periods of time, drive, bend, balance, carry and pull up to 15 lbs., talk, see and hear. Work is completed indoors and outdoors from a remote/home office setting.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Contract Investigative Technicians control their work schedule, and must remain flexible in their availability.
Travel
Regular travel throughout the geographic area of responsibility is required. Reserve availability for TDY assignments outside of regular area.
