As a DEI Manager on Uber's IDEA Team (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Awareness), you will assist in the development and execution of strategic and holistic strategies and programs, tools, metrics, and resources globally. Your goal will be to accelerate the creation of an inclusive and engaging workplace that enables all talent from a diversity of backgrounds to thrive and succeed; to coach and consult with business leaders to help them fully live into their role as the leaders of diversity & inclusion, and to help Uber achieve its business goals and live its mission.

What You'll Do

  1. Devise and execute the strategy against the OKR's that have been defined by our global IDEA strategy.
  2. Create global roadmaps and plans for executing against key strategic priorities including, but not limited to, strategy development and delivery aligned to hiring, retention and promotion of underrepresented groups, leadership development, inclusive leadership, supplier diversity, and other areas as assigned.
  3. Build working relationships with key stakeholders across People & Places to drive delivery.
  4. Design and manage programs to train, transition, and continually develop diverse talent.
  5. Leverage global DEI programs and apply to regional and local context to be implemented at scale.
  6. Report and track regional DEI metrics, build visibility on progress to leadership, highlighting wins and opportunities.
  7. Bring to life Uber's value 'great minds don't think alike' in everything.
  8. Serve as liaison between internal partners and the IDEA scaled programs team.
  9. Create and manage program budgets.
  10. Develop, influence and support an internal network of DEI advocates.
  11. Develop industry partnerships and work with external partners to create custom programs to address specific needs.
  12. Engage externally to benchmark best practice and use latest research in the DEI domain to deliver meaningful impact.
  13. Ability to work with ambiguous ideas, translating them to actionable and measurable outcomes/programs.
  14. Ability to build cross-functional relationships and influence without authority.
  15. Build creative solutions to problems. Additional projects and tasks as our work evolves.

Basic Qualifications

  1. Minimum of 6+ years of professional experience in DEI program management.
  2. Demonstrated experience and passion for DEI and people experience.
  3. Good understanding of people processes and best-practices; designing and structuring programs and developing metrics and KPI's.
  4. Experience driving global-scale projects with multiple partners.
  5. Strong cultural awareness and proven ability to work with remote stakeholders; Mega-regional or global scope of responsibilities.
  6. Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities, with a diversity program lens grounded in detailed thinking and analytics.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. 6+ years of DEI experience in Recruiting, HR, or related fields.
  2. A growth vs fixed mentality as proven by having made big bets or taken some calculated risks, even if they didn't prove to be successful.
  3. Knowledge and experience in global technology businesses.

For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$137,000 per year - USD$152,000 per year. For Dallas, TX-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$137,000 per year - USD$152,000 per year. For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$152,000 per year - USD$169,000 per year. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$152,000 per year - USD$169,000 per year. For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$137,000 per year - USD$152,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of compensation. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
