A Day in the Life and the Impact You'll Make:
The Chief Financial Officer is primarily responsible for direction and oversight of all financial activities in the Americas region. This includes taking the lead in providing strategic financial planning, reporting, and managing the treasury, accounting, and financial risk management activities for DEKRA America's region-wide finances.
The CFO is a member of the Senior Leadership Team and provides insight to executive leadership on the financial budgets, forecasts, plans and general economic outlook to inform strategic thinking on business growth and plays a key part in the development of future strategy for the business. This position also plays a critical role in all activities regarding mergers and acquisitions.
Furthermore, the CFO provides leadership and direction to all financial staff to ensure the production of reliable financial information (routine reports and special analyses) to support the operational management of the business. This position is responsible for supporting the company's operational planning to achieve profitable operations and for providing protective internal audit and operating controls. This position will be responsible for building and overseeing the Accounting and Finance shared services model for the America's region in a manner that drives best-in-class efficiency through the implementation of standardized processes and business systems. The CFO also ensures that a positive work environment is present and facilitates open communication and sharing of information and ideas within the Finance and Accounting team and with regional and global business partners.
What You'll Do:
  • Partner with senior and executive leadership in strategic analysis of market environment, trends, opportunities and development and evaluation of business strategy.
  • Oversee the preparation of all financial reporting, including income statements, balance sheets, reports to shareholders, tax returns and any required statutory reporting.
  • Accountable for the accuracy and timely preparation of all company accounting information.
  • Review and analyze cash flows, cost controls and expenses to provide guidance to business leaders.
  • Consult with functional and operational leaders to analyze performance and identify areas for opportunity, improvement, change or re-organization.
  • Lead a robust Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function within the Americas region to support detailed assessment and sound decision making related to all investments, projects, initiatives, and other transformations. This includes detailed modelling, KPI formation/tracking, forecasting and problem solving.
  • Oversee DEKRA America's relationship with our Public Accounting Firm(s) for auditing and other regulatory filings.
  • Manage accounting and finance functions, both directly and indirectly.
  • Develop and maintain financial controls, procedures, and internal audits as required.
  • Develop reporting methodologies to ensure the financial health of the company is monitored and communicated in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Identify and implement methods for improving quality of reporting and planning processes as appropriate.
  • Play central role in the development and implementation of new business systems to support future growth and general operational performance improvement.
  • Play a critical role in the due diligence and post-merger integration for all M&A activities, as well as all business divestment initiatives.
  • Establish and provide goals for the Accounting and Treasury functions.
  • Establish and maintain solid relationships with financial institutions to assure funding needs are addressed. Work with banks and/or investment bankers to raise additional capital as required for expansion.
  • Select, develop, and deploy managers and financial professionals to provide the skills needed now and in the future.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support business needs.
What You'll Bring:
  • Education: bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; master's degree preferred
  • Experience: 15 years of related experience
  • Certifications/Licenses: Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Knowledge and understanding of GAAP and IFRS principles
  • Outstanding interpersonal communications skills both written and verbal. An ability to convey complex issues in a manner that both senior leaders and junior staff understand
  • Experience working in a high growth, privately held, global professional services organization.
  • Experience managing multiple Profit and Loss Statements and consolidating these efficiently to provide a detailed, holistic representation of organization-wide financial performance.
  • Experience in producing and reviewing detailed financial models in support of critical business decisions.
  • Analytical nature, excellent skills in accounting, supervision, and management.
  • Experienced in managing change in a complex and high growth business
  • Multi-task orientation; works well under pressure; prioritizes and produces within deadlines.
  • Proven ability to develop and motivate personnel across all functional areas
  • Knowledge of database and accounting computer application systems to supply the most accurate financial information.
  • Experience working within a matrix organization in a collaborative manner
  • Experience completing multiple successful Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A)

Compensation:
The base pay for this position is $240,000 annually to $250,000 annually. Actual pay is based on several factors including market location and position-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
