About Salesforce

We’re Salesforce, the Customer Company, inspiring the future of business with AI + Data + CRM. Leading with our core values, we help companies across every industry blaze new trails and connect with customers in a whole new way. And, we empower you to be a Trailblazer, too — driving your performance and career growth, charting new paths, and improving the state of the world. If you believe in business as the greatest platform for change and in companies doing well and doing good – you’ve come to the right place.

At Salesforce, we make the tools that help people work more effectively and efficiently. Design and User Experience is at the center of all of it. We bring powerful visions to life with the latest technologies and the Salesforce platform. We put customers first and we're looking for ambitious, self-motivated, creative-minded individuals who want to help shape our digital experience platform that allows businesses of all sizes and industries to create unique and engaging experiences for their customers across multiple touch points.

We are looking for a VP of Product Design & UX to lead one of our major product areas, Automation & Integration, consisting of multiple products within its portfolio. You'll get to work with some of the best and brightest. You'll find startup-like scrum teams, a strong desire to bring consumer-style innovation to the enterprise space, and the opportunity to deliver great experiences to millions of end-users. And you'll have a great experience in the process. This role will be a key member of the Customer 360 Platform UX leadership team, helping us continue to establish Salesforce as a leader within the broader UX field - across thought leadership, recruiting, talent development and UX best practices. This role will also sit on the Cloud's executive team to help drive product strategy and ensure that our users are represented in a design-led approach to product development.

Our Automation & Integration product portfolio combines the best of Salesforce Flow and MuleSoft. Our customers strive to do more with less and often this is accomplished through automation, powered by Salesforce Flow. Flow powers much of the Salesforce ecosystem, across every Cloud and Industry. The work of our UX Designers enhances existing Flow Builder experiences while also bringing more cohesive experience across the automation suite of tools. Serving personas from ranging from IT teams to business users, our automation tools also include Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Intelligent Document Processing (IDP).

MuleSoft continues to be a leader in the iPaaS and API Management markets. As the MuleSoft platform moves closer to the Salesforce Core Platform our product experience evolve to serve new users. Via collaboration with teams across the company, MuleSoft helps customers bring data into the ecosystem and allows the Platform to easily connect to disparate systems. The MuleSoft products primarily serve technical admins and developers and the experience is inclusive of web apps, a new IDE named Anypoint Code Builder and a command line interface (CLI).

Behind Salesforce Automation & Integration is a team of talented UX designers, product leaders and engineers dedicated to creating integrated experiences that support strong relationships for users and their customers. You’ll immerse yourself in all aspects of end-to-end experience design: using storyboards, journey maps, flow diagrams, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to communicate design ideas and direction. Bring your skills, inspire your team, and create amazing experiences as you help us transform the way business gets done.

Responsibilities Include

  • Formulating a user experience vision for the Salesforce platform
  • Influencing and aligning Salesforce’s executive leadership team around this vision
  • Communicating the vision within the User Experience/Product Design team and across the entire company

  • Recruiting, nurturing and retaining best-in-class talent
  • Reinforcing a design-driven culture that leverages the best product, technology and innovative talent

Required Skills/Experience

  • Demonstrated experience setting UX vision and innovation, with the ability to lead a team to execute against and optimize, across a portfolio of products, projects and teams simultaneously
  • Inclusively leads and develops people, sets the pace and people naturally flock to them as a leader
  • Makes hard decisions and is accountable for them even when the outcome is negative
  • Deals with ambiguity and is exceptionally adaptable and flexible; can throw and catch a curve ball
  • Very strong presentation and storytelling skills
  • Understanding of key business metrics and data and how it connects to design
  • Excellent cross-disciplinary collaboration skills and strong organizational agility
