The Director of Business Office Finance at the YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth plays a critical role in ensuring the financial health and stability of the organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Finance Officer (CFO), this position is responsible for overseeing various aspects of financial management, including collaboration with the Association Controller, supervising the accounts payable team, and ensuring accurate credit card reconciliations. The Director of Business Office Finance will work closely with other departments to streamline financial processes and provide strategic support in achieving the overall mission of the YMCA.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Experience with non-profit financial management preferred.
  • Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Work, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Financial Management & Reporting:
  • Collaborate with the CFO and Controller to create and maintain accurate financial reports, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, providing variance analysis and insights to leadership.
  • Develop and monitor the annual budget in partnership with senior leadership.,
  1. Collaboration with Association Controller:
  • Work closely with the Association Controller to ensure proper financial controls and procedures are in place.
  • Support the Controller in ensuring the timely and accurate closing of monthly, quarterly, and year-end books.
  • Work with external auditors to facilitate the audit process.
  1. Accounts Payable Oversight:
  • Supervise the accounts payable team to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and vendor payments.
  • Oversee and approve the reconciliation of vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Ensure adherence to purchasing policies and procedures while seeking opportunities to improve efficiency.
  1. Credit Card Reconciliations:
  • Oversee the credit card reconciliation process, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and matched with supporting documentation.
  • Work with staff across departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure compliance with credit card usage policies.
  1. Cash Flow Management:
  • Assist in monitoring cash flow and liquidity to meet operational needs.
  • Ensure timely collection of receivables and proper disbursement of payables in alignment with cash flow forecasts.
  1. Strategic Financial Support:
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making by the senior leadership team.
  • Assist in identifying and evaluating financial risks and opportunities for the organization.
  • Actively contribute to long-term financial planning and sustainability efforts for the YMCA.
  1. Team Leadership & Development:
  • Manage and mentor finance staff, providing ongoing training and development to ensure a high-performing finance team.

  1. Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Lead efforts to analyze financial data across all YMCA branches, identifying trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement a robust system for tracking financial metrics, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to senior leadership.
  • Present data-driven insights to help optimize financial performance and decision-making.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $65,000 - $80,000
