We are recruiting a part-time Adolescent Medicine Specialist (50%) for the position of Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics (Practitioner Track). The Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine at CHLA is one of the oldest in the country and has extensive clinical, educational, and research programs. We currently have 13 faculty and over 100 staff and trainees participating in programs ranging from homeless care, HIV prevention and care, gender affirmation program, mental health and substance use services, and a transition care program. We are also a LEAH funded educational site.

This position will primarily be clinical and have 50% time allocated to our eating disorder clinic (will be medical director of this program and requires expertise and experience in the treatment of Eating Disorders) and 25% allocated to primary or specialty adolescent and young adult care. Several of these clinics will be teaching clinics including fellows, residents, and medical students.

When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.

The Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine offers a dynamic and diverse work environment with numerous opportunities to collaborate on research, program development, training, and grant development. As a division, we are committed to comprehensive health care and programming that is client-directed, sex-positive, and celebrates that young people have the agency to make health decisions for themselves and their children. We believe in the importance of working toward sustainable improvements and growth that support equity and anti-oppression; address health disparities caused by systems informed by white supremacy; and support the overall health and well-being of young people, specifically Black, Indigenous, and Youth of Color (BIYOC).

Academic appointment through USC Keck School of Medicine is available at a level appropriate to training and experience. CHLA and USC are equal opportunity, affirmative action employers. The division greatly values diversity and is committed to building a vibrant and culturally diverse community of faculty that best reflects the patients and families that we serve.
