Job description Job Summary:During site preparation works, the Site Lead Civil Engineer serves asthe representative on-site, coordinating all construction activities. The role involves close collaboration with contractors, site supervisors, and the project management team. As the project progresses to the electro-mechanical construction and commissioning phases, the Site Lead Civil Engineer will become a member of the site management team, reporting to the Construction Project Manager and the Deputy. This role ensures quality control, schedule adherence, and prioritizes safety throughout the project lifecycle.Key Responsibilities:Site Preparation Phase: Coordinate site activities with execution contractors, consultants, the HSE coordinator, site supervisor, and project team members.Liaise with the site supervisor, owner's engineers, and contractors to address construction issues.Provide daily progress updates to the Construction Project Manager and Deputy.Lead daily progress meetings with contractors and consultants.Review project schedules, ensuring targets are met and proposing catch-up plans for any delays.Oversee day-to-day site work, including the preparation and approval of work permits.Ensure that contractors comply with safety requirements, halting unsafe practices if necessary.Review and approve weekly progress reports from contractors.Act as the main coordinator for site kick-off meetings with each contractor mobilization. Quality Control & Safety: Oversee quality control, planning, and troubleshooting across civil works.Approve site shop drawings, method statements, risk assessments, and inspection test plans.Monitor contractor activities and ensure compliance with technical requirements.Review and approve QA/QC documents from contractors.Attend inspections with contractors, coordinating third-party quality and regulatory checks.Ensure work is performed according to approved drawings and procedures, recommending corrections when necessary.Investigate and resolve code compliance complaints.Prepare and submit inspection reports, including Site Inspection Reports and Minutes of Meetings.Collaborate with contractors and the HSE coordinator on Construction Completion Certificates and Taking Over processes. Project Management Support: Monitor project schedule progress on-site and support field coordination.Work closely with engineers, designers, and contractors in the civil works scope.Attend daily progress meetings with main contractors.Prepare and submit daily progress reports for construction activities.Support coordination meetings with consultants and contractors.Functionally report to the Construction Project Manager and participate in weekly site meetings. Profile Requirements:Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising large utility plant construction (e.g., power, energy, water) or infrastructure projects.Experience in wind energy or battery energy storage system (BESS) projects is a plus.Bachelor's degree in engineering (or related field) required.
