Job Description:
We are actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team, providing invaluable support to schools through our staffing company. As a SLPA, you will work closely with licensed Speech-Language Pathologists to assist in the treatment of students with speech and language delays.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Speech-Language Pathologists to implement individualized education plans (IEP's) designed to address communication challenges and enhance speech and language skills.
- Work directly with students, both individually and in group settings, to provide speech therapy interventions based on established treatment goals.
- Assist in conducting screenings and assessments to identify students with speech and language disorders.
- Implement therapy activities and exercises designed to improve articulation, language, and social communication skills.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate speech therapy goals into the overall educational plan.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance.
- Assist in the preparation and organization of materials for therapy sessions.
- Bachelor's degree (preferred) or Associate's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program from an accredited institution.
- Valid Arizona Department of Health Services licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Previous experience in a school setting is desirable.
- Ability to work collaboratively with licensed Speech-Language Pathologists and adapt to various work environments.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable transportation to travel between school locations, if indicated.
