THE ROLE

We are looking for a distinguished Market Lead to play a key role in standing up property operations and operational structure, including the hands-on implementation of all back-end and access systems, brand collateral and messaging for guest spaces in partnership with the Regional Director of Operations. Our Market Leads take pride in owning all aspects of their managed units, employee engagement, and property performance metrics and contributions to revenue. The ideal person enjoys being hands-on and cultivating a service-oriented culture with a highly motivated and energetic on-site team of salary and hourly employees across our 4 properties in downtown Detroit.

AT MINT HOUSE YOU WILL

  • Play a key role in standing up property operations and operational structure, including the hands-on implementation of all back-end and access systems, brand collateral and messaging for guest spaces in partnership with the Regional Director of Operations.
  • Support the entire operation of units focused on serving transient, group, and extended stay guests.
  • Oversee all talent acquisition efforts for all property operation roles within the Detroit market at our 4 properties.
  • Responsible for cultivating a service-oriented culture that amplifies diverse voices and fosters an inclusive work environment with a highly motivated and energetic on-site team.
  • Take ownership of on-site operations, collaborating cross-functionally and within your onsite property teams to develop and implement best practices geared towards optimizing occupancy, net rates, social and listing marketing, and overall experience.
  • Own all aspects of 50 units and guest spaces and hold themselves accountable through a combination of customer reviews, employee engagement, hotel performance metrics and contributions to revenue.
  • Ensure entire team and property are ready, willing, and able to maintain a consistently high level of service and meet Mint House’s brand standards.
  • Maintain close work relationships with our Expansion/Operations, People, Revenue, Real Estate, Guest Experience, and Finance & Accounting departments and their leaders to promote feedback, cross-training, and efficient operations.
  • Hire, oversee, motivate, and train team members on all Mint House’s SOPs and programs; provide ongoing communication to team in order to deliver our guests with a delightful, frictionless experience.
  • Take lead on all on-site financial management including being the point of contact for corporate accounting and overseeing AP management.
  • Understand and practice local and state regulations pertaining to short-term rentals.
  • Travel to the 4 downtown Detroit locations.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Significant experience in running hospitality operations; previous housekeeping management experience a plus.
  • Must have 3 years of experience managing hourly employees; team of up to 10 associates.
  • Hands-on leadership to support team and cares deeply to take an active role to coach and develop them.
  • You have successfully cultivated, managed, and owned high-level relationships on-site and with external partners.
  • Lead by example and embody Mint House’s core values in every interaction.
  • Concise communication to propose clear and achievable paths forward and be comfortable solving problems quickly.
  • Strong track record of driving team performance and making effective decisions in order to beat budget while maintaining exceptional service levels; familiar with hotel P&Ls and operations.
  • Energy and dedication. Mint House is transforming the traditional hotel model and defining a new category of residential hospitality. The Mint House team believes deeply in this mission and invests the time, energy, and effort needed to make it a reality.
  • Must have an earnest & flexible attitude and be adaptable to policy and procedural changes.
  • Process-oriented skill sets to successfully manage vendor relationships i.e., housekeeping, linen/laundry, maintenance, etc.
  • Experience recruiting and onboarding new employees to scale an elite team.
  • Tech-savvy to manage all inventory of systems and products like keypads, locks, and key access boxes.
  • This role requires reliable transportation for work, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record.
