Gpac has partnered with a mechanical contractor looking to add a Safety Manager to their team. The company hires people that are passionate about safety who will create, support, and audit the safety program.
Safety Manager Responsibilities:
- Safety Planning and Implementation
- Lead Project teams in developing and implementing project specific comprehensive safety plans and procedures specific to water and wastewater, and others as needed
- Ensure that safety protocols are aligned with regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and Shank Constructors safety standards
- Comply with all company confidential and proprietary information policies
- Training and Education
- develip and deliver safety programs
- Incident Management and Investigationl
- Lead investigations into safety incidents, near misses, and accidents in collaboration with Insurance company. Manage worker compensation program as return to work programs and incident case management
Regulatory Compliance - Manage compliance efforts as required by the Department of Transportation (DOT) to include DOT inspections, mileage logs and other reporting requirements
- Education in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field. Years of experience will be considered in lieu.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety management, ideally with a focus on water and wastewater. Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of a safety program on projects of increasing complexity.
- Professional certification in safety management preferred.
- CPR/First Aid, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification and OSHA instructor certifications are preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety and other relevant safety standards.
