ALL ABOUT ASSETS PROTECTION

Assets Protection (AP) teams function to keep our guests, team and brand safe and secure and lead through crisis events. They protect profitable sales by mitigating shortage risks, preventing, investigating and resolving theft and fraud to ensure product is available for our guest.

As a Target Security Specialist, your typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:

1. Support sales by welcoming and engaging guests and team members at the front of store and on the sales floor.
2. Lead a physical security culture for our team members and guests by assessing and maintaining safe and secure standards throughout the store.
3. Respond to and accurately document security incidents.
4. Understand and leverage escalation tools for guest issues to provide a safe environment.
5. Conduct merchandise recoveries and provide apprehension support, adhering to AP policies.
6. Prevent theft and shortage at the front of store by performing receipt checks.
7. Submit documentation in the system for all incidents following AP policy.
8. Understand and appropriately use the video system.
9. Train team members on merchandise protection and audit execution.
10. Execute shortage action plans set by AP leadership.
11. Model working safely while maintaining a clean store.
12. Provide service and a shopping experience that meets the needs of the guest.
13. Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
14. Work in a safe manner at all times; identify and correct hazards.
15. All other duties based on business needs.

Skills you should have:

1. Must be at least 18 years of age.
2. High school diploma or equivalent.
3. Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements.

6. Ability to work both independently and with a team.
7. Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.

1. Climb up and down ladders.
2. Apprehend subjects in accordance with company policy.
3. Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including lifting or moving merchandise up to 40 pounds.
4. Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, and holidays) and regular attendance necessary.
