Director of Talent Management Strategy

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Director or Senior Director of Talent Management Strategy to lead and manage a cutting-edge Talent Management system for Flagship Pioneering. Key Responsibilities:

The Talent Management Strategy Director / Senior Director will be a key member of our pioneering team, overseeing talent management and development strategies for Flagship Pioneering. They will report to the SVP of Leadership, Talent Management & Insights, and will serve as a key member of the Leadership, Talent Management & Insights Center of Excellence. This individual will plan, develop, and implement comprehensive talent management strategies that align with our company's vision and needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Co-create with key internal stakeholders, and then lead and implement a robust talent management framework which supports the development and retention of exceptional talent across the organization.
  • Establish and monitor key performance metrics to measure effectiveness of talent and development strategies.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to identify and address talent gaps and to drive the development and execution of initiatives focused on employee engagement, leadership and talent development.
  • Develop programs that enhance employee performance, including goal setting, performance management, talent review, succession planning, mentoring, and career and leadership development.
  • Work closely with the people analytics and insights team to supercharge the development of a talent dashboard, and embed data driven analytics & insights across the full talent management lifecycle analytics to help leaders make better decisions.
  • Lead efforts to expand talent mobility across the Flagship ecosystem to retain and grow a talented and diverse workforce at all levels of our organization.
  • Facilitate change management initiatives related to talent management and manage internal and external relations within the framework of the talent management system.
  • Design training programs and career progression paths to ensure the development of a talented team that meets our present and future needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or related field. A master's degree or HR certifications are a plus.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing evidence-based talent management strategies that are rooted in human centered design and tailored to drive meaningful business impact.
  • Excellent understanding of the talent management life cycle and systems thinking of how to optimize the cycle.
  • Strong relationships in the talent management & talent intelligence ecosystem of partners, vendors and thought leaders. Demonstrated passion for the tradecraft and investing in personal & professional innovation in the topic.
  • Strong understanding of diversity, inclusion & belonging (DIB) best practices and integrating those into talent management strategies & approaches.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and influence at all levels of the organization, and to productively partner with business leaders and HRBPs to jointly move priorities forward.
  • Strong strategic and critical & first principles thinking paired with a proactive, creative approach toward problem solving.
  • Familiarity with HR databases, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and Human Resources Management Systems (HRMS).
  • Experience in project management and budgeting.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment while balancing the critical need to be in our Cambridge office two to three days a week.
