Job Duties:
Work closely with the product management and engineering teams to identify and prototype data product opportunities using data analysis, machine learning, and software development skills. Play a leading role in the development and embedding of data science best practices, and the development and/or selection of tools and frameworks.
- Direct the activities of a data science team responsible for the design, development, programming methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse “big data” sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for businesses across the company.
- Oversee the development of software programs, algorithms, and automated processes that cleanse, integrate and evaluate large data sets from multiple disparate sources.
- Identify and communicate to stakeholders, meaningful, actionable insights from large data and metadata sources.
- Select, develop, and evaluate personnel ensuring the efficient operation of the function.
- Work closely with Executive Leadership and the Data Science team to define the data science program of research. Establish the Data Science team’s goals and coach and encourage the team to achieve these goals.
- Responsible for growing the team according to the data science hiring plan and the company’s needs.
- Collaborate closely with the engineering team as they productionize the data products prototyped, acting as an advisor when necessary.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or related technical discipline and at least five (5) years in the position offered (Data Manager) or Data Engineer, Data Scientist, or related field.
