Job Description:

Senior Technical Staff Engineer-Project Management

Division: Data Center Solutions (DCS)

Location: Burnaby, BC; Roseville, CA; San Jose, CA

General Job Description:

Microchip is currently seeking a Senior Technical Staff Engineer to drive cross functional teams for enterprise silicon products from concept to production release.

Responsibilities:

  1. Help define, track, and coordinate requirements and deliverables between a wide array of cross functional teams in different geographies to achieve a successful product launch.
  2. Track overall team progress, proposing and driving new methodologies to improve quality, pull in schedule, lower cost, and remove barriers to execution.
  3. Coordinate and drive focused sub-teams to resolve critical issues that arise during overall development.
  4. Engage with customer marketing as well as engineering development to update plans in response to dynamic market requirements.
  5. Effectively communicate program status, challenges, and requests to the Product Sponsor and/or senior executives.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 8+ years experience in silicon design, firmware design, and/or product validation.
  2. Demonstrated team leadership skills and experience.
  3. Knowledge of silicon development, firmware development, product validation, and silicon manufacturing engineering.
  4. Experience with managing geographically spread, multidiscipline teams across multiple time zones.
  5. Excellent project and program management and planning skills, including scheduling, assessment, resource management, requirements management, status reporting, schedule tracking and risk management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience sourcing, qualifying, and integrating 3rd party IP into a larger development.
  2. Experience with Agile/Scrum or other program management methodologies.
  3. PMP certification or related training.

Pay Range:

The expected base salary range for this position, if filled in California, is $79,000 - $232,000, dependent on specific skills and work experience. We offer a total compensation package that ranks among the best in the industry. It consists of competitive base pay, restricted stock units, and quarterly bonus payments. In addition to these components, our package includes health benefits that begin day one, retirement savings plans, and an industry leading ESPP program with a 2 year look back feature.
