Trial Attorney
Responsibilities
Staff Counsel for CURE Auto Insurance is seeking an experienced Trial Attorney with 3+ years of PIP trial experience. This experience should include taking and defending depositions, negotiation proficiency, and experience successfully trying cases. Leadership potential is available as we continue to expand.
Located in Downtown Detroit, Michigan, we provide a congenial, team-oriented professional work environment with skilled support staff, competitive salary, and exceptional benefits. We currently operate under a hybrid schedule with attorneys coming into the office 2 to 3 days a week.
Responsible for handling PIP files from inception through trial and appeal, if necessary.
Manage the entire legal process from investigation and discovery through drafting and arguing in limine motions, trial, and court proceedings. Represent clients in depositions, site inspections, court hearings, trials, and negotiating settlements.
Possess excellent academic credentials, outstanding written and oral advocacy skills, and strong software/technological skills including competency in Word, Outlook, and Westlaw.
Ideal candidates will be well organized, detail-oriented, and able to independently manage a caseload where work is time sensitive.
Qualifications
3-5 years of experience handling PIP Litigation from inception to conclusion.
Knowledge of local and state discovery rules, trial procedures, and applicable substantive law commensurate with level of experience.
Ability to take full responsibilities for files and handle a full caseload.
Proven track record of trial skills and techniques.
Strong negotiation, research, and trial skills.
Ability to work in a team environment with other attorneys, adjusters, claims professionals, and support staff.
Additional Information
Must have a law degree from an A.B.A. accredited law school and excellent academic credentials.
Must have an active law license to practice in Michigan and a member in good standing with the State Bar of Michigan.
