Job Requirements / Description
The Operations Manager, APU will:
- Implement Visual Standard Work in all areas;
- Recruit, select, train, assign, schedule, coach, and counsel employees;
- Communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising and reviewing job contributions;
- Plan and review compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures;
- Address supply chain challenges by managing the rate of replacement for successful contribution margin;
- Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality and customer-service standards; resolve problems; complete audits; identify trends;
- Forecast requirements; prepare an annual budget; schedule expenditures; analyze variances; initiating corrective actions;
- Analyze process workflow, employee and space requirements and equipment layout; implement changes;
- Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations;
- Accomplish operations and organization mission by completing related results as needed;
- Meet or exceed operations labor budget expectations;
- Manage staff levels, wages, hours, contract labor to revenues;
- Responsible for all department managers and supervisors, with review/approval responsibility for all operations employees;
- Run a safe, injury/accident free workplace;
- Review and approve all operational invoices and ensure they are submitted for approval;
- Communicate customer issues with operations team and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints;
- Work closely with Director and management team to set and/or implement policies, procedures and systems and to follow through with implementation;
- Communicate all operating policies and/or issues at department meetings;
- Work closely with the inventory Director and team to perform analysis of their inventory and ensure they utilize their inventory effectively, purchase the right inventory to support all APU Product Lines;
- Communicate with Director and safety department to ensure all processes remain compliant with OSHA and other governmental regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, Manufacturing Operations or related field is required;
- Five-plus years of senior leadership experience in a complex MRO manufacturing environment; aviation/aerospace MRO industry a plus;
- Dedicated change agent who is not afraid of diving to the water:
- Drive operations into customer centric focus;
- Drastic improvement in performance output;
- Drive strategic projects to support site growth;
- Develop and implement efficiency improvement initiatives and procedures.
- Proven leader who will rally and motivate the team to drive change through a hands-on, production driven management approach;
- Ability to work under pressure and within tight schedule constraints;
- Demonstrable experience developing, implementing, and leading lean/continuous improvement strategies, processes and additional best-in-class manufacturing techniques to drive competitive advantage in quality, cost and schedule;
- Proven success in achieving and maintaining OTD and TAT goals for the organization.
