As a Workshop Manager, you will be accountable for leading the technicians on the workshop floor, including overseeing effective management and performance of the Boston maintenance operation, delivering outstanding levels of service and compliance with Quality Standards, promoting safe working practices, improving day-to-day operations, ensuring paperwork is completed to a high standard by the technicians, and ensuring a high level of quality standards to our customers.

A snapshot of what you will be doing here:

  1. Coaching and leading the team
    Taking end-responsibility for quality, efficiency, safety, and resources within your own unit; coaching and motivating team members and ensuring teamwork.
  2. Management of the work package
    Implement TCR processes and procedures with the utilization of SAP to manage resource and labor allocation, ensuring correct stock management, tracking progress, and assisting team members with production figures.
  3. Subject-specific support to the team members
    Instructing in maintenance and malfunctions for the purpose of safe maintenance of vehicles and equipment; knowledge transfer for professional development.
  4. Participating in regular consultations
    Coordination with departments such as customers, suppliers, and TCR departments; providing information from customers to team members.
  5. Continue improvement
    Contributing to professional knowledge to set-up (quality) measurements; proposing improvements and investigating technical modifications.
  6. Performing tasks specific to technicians, including associated responsibilities and authorities.
  7. Taking end-responsibility for workshop administration within your unit and cooperation with relevant departments.
  8. Demonstrating active safety leadership by driving the safety culture and implementing initiatives to continuously improve TCR’s safety performance and OHS management system.

We are looking for an individual who:

  • Has an expert technical background in GSE maintenance and repair: mechanics, hydraulics, electricity, air pressure, aircon/refrigeration units, and electrical systems (Preferred)
  • Can make complex decisions under pressure
  • Is stress resistant
  • Demonstrates a commitment to achieving an OHSA-friendly working environment
  • Acts as a role model and is a real team player
  • Has strong communication skills
  • Has a drive for excellence and leadership skills
  • Is fluent in English – both oral and written
