This position reports to the Gateways Operations Manager and oversees the unloading and loading of planes, a package sortation process, and a trucking operation that delivers pallets to US post offices. The Gateway Manager supervises the entire Amazon Gateway operation, including: Ground Support Handling of 767 cargo aircraft; piece level sortation of packages; and linehaul delivery of sorted packages to the Direct Delivery Unit (DDU) Post offices of the island of Kauai. The operation is currently scheduled for a late evening to early morning time frame depending on the location. This job is a 5-day work week position. This operation is conducted 7 days a week, and occasional weekend work may be required. This position is capable of stepping into all other management positions if needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the overall operation of plane loading and unloading, package sortation, and trucking operations, ensuring compliance with all client metrics, standards, and reporting requirements.
  • Work with our unionized subcontractor to ensure the sortation operation is sufficiently staffed.
  • Supervise all operations to ensure compliance with TSA and DOT requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures, customer information, and security requirements.
  • Ensure customer-required reports are prepared and issued on time.
  • Report safety, security, and theft incidents.
  • Demonstrate internal and external customer service.

Qualifications:

  • Customer service-oriented, friendly, helpful, and professional disposition with strong leadership skills to work in a fast-paced and always-changing environment.
  • Experience with commercial driving and sortation processes is desired.
  • Excellent organization, communication (both written and verbal), and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Self-motivated, able to multi-task and work effectively under minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate a consistent capability of working cooperatively with others in a team environment.

Physical Requirements:

The work requires routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying items weighing less than fifty pounds. Moving items over fifty pounds will be done using team lift. Must meet physical lifting requirements of 50 lbs.
