Top Secret Clearance - Commvault Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Commvault Resident Services Engineer (RSE) to provide dedicated on-site or remote technical administration for our customers' Commvault environments. This role will be instrumental in managing the entire suite of Commvault applications, optimizing performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring adherence to best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Commvault Administration: Perform daily administration tasks within the Commvault environment, ensuring smooth operation and high success rates for backup jobs.
• Backup Optimization: Review and resolve backup failures, and troubleshoot/optimize throughput issues related to backups and restores.
• Environment Assessment: Collect, analyze, and document data regarding the current Commvault setup, ensuring customer policies and procedures align with best practices.
• Problem Solving: Develop and implement solutions for complex data movement challenges, including backups across WAN or hybrid on-prem/cloud environments.
• Incident Resolution: Take ownership of trouble tickets, working them through to resolution.
• Feature Deployment: Assist with the ongoing deployment and configuration of new Commvault software features.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 5+ years of Backup Administration experience, preferably with Commvault (Commvault Master Certification is a plus).
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of data lifecycle management, disaster recovery, and performance tuning.
• Hardware Expertise: Familiarity with hardware such as Storage Arrays, SANs, servers, and NAS devices, including native snapshot capabilities.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to logically troubleshoot IT issues with confidence and efficiency.
• Documentation & Communication: Skilled in taking detailed notes and conveying complex technical information in business terms to management.
• Server Administration: Advanced experience with Windows server environments (Microsoft or other professional certifications are a plus).
• Virtualization: Experience with Hyper-V, VMware, and/or Citrix XenServer in complex or distributed environments.
• Backup Software: Exposure to other backup solutions (e.g., Symantec, EMC, IBM, CA, HP) is a plus.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Familiarity with major cloud infrastructure providers.
• Security Clearance: A security clearance is a plus.
• Travel: Willingness to travel up to 90% post-COVID-19 restrictions.
