Your mission, roles and responsibilities

Mission
The Marketing Director leads the marketing team for Mechanisms & Structures PL, being responsible for product plan process. She/he promotes her/his product line up through dedicated events and supports the acquisition processes. She/he provides a long-term view on market evolutions and guides the innovation strategy.

Key responsibilities and tasks:
Understand market value:

  1. Understand the market for a given product line: competition, technology, norms and regs, segmentation, price trend, customers, and end users.
  2. Describe and document market and customers’ expectations for engineering and sales department.
  3. Build diagnostics and identify business opportunities: growth, profitability, innovation, cost improvement.
  4. Provide market oriented ranking criteria to prioritize our innovation portfolio.
  5. Is a full member of the PL Structures & Mechanisms Team.

Build value offer:

  1. Business owner of innovation projects identification in his/her segment(s).
  2. Provide support and orientation to innovation projects (identify the target customers and models).
  3. Assess the market opportunities of new offerings.
  4. Contribute to the definition of new offerings: functions, specs, price, positioning, and market approach.
  5. Identify adequate business model (make versus buy, partnership, supplier panel).
  6. Issue every year the product plan.
  7. Establish the business plan and present it during innovation project milestones.

Deliver value:

  1. In charge of bringing the innovation to the market successfully: support acquisition process, define the product communication (selling tools, demonstrators).
  2. Lead the definition of a value-based pricing policy (together with costing, engineering and sales).
  3. Monitor the deployment of the product strategy: product improvement, footprint strategy, cost improvement, profitability.
  4. Lead a community of people involved in his product range (transversal management).

Manage a team of Marketing Managers:

  1. Ensure the proper talent at the right place through internal or external recruitment processes.
  2. As and when properly staffed and organized, responsible for coaching, developing and promoting the Sales team.
  3. Assign objectives and follow-up.

Training

  1. Develop and train collaborators.

Your profile and competencies to succeed

Qualifications et compétences requises ou souhaitées:

  1. Formation initiale recommandée:
    Master or Bachelor in Engineering Degree or Business.
  2. Expérience:
    Minimum 8 years of experience in automotive industry. Professional background in client facing positions (CBU, Acquisition, Program) and in Marketing.
  3. Connaissances requises pour tenir le poste:
    Strong knowledge product and technology expertise. Business acumen (business plan, business model).
  4. Compétences:
    International projects management skills. Customer orientation.
  5. Langues étrangères:
    Fluent in English.
  6. Compétences personnelles, savoir-être:
    Results oriented with strong written and oral communications skills. Ability to work in a matrix organization and strong internal networking capabilities.
  7. Déplacements: Yes / No.
