Mead & Hunt is looking for an entry-level civil engineer to join our transportation group. Responsibilities include:
- Field observations of roadway conditions and data collection.
- Roadway design modeling (Bentley or AutoCAD).
- Preparing cost estimates and specifications.
- Assisting in developing design plans.
- Identifying and applying standards, guidelines, and principles in the AASHTO Green Book, Highway Capacity Manual, Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, Highway Safety Manual, and other local and national standards.
- Assisting in the analysis, preparation, or modification of reports, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, permits, and designs for projects.
- Technical writing.
- Attending client meetings.
- Assisting in client contact and communications.
A valid driver’s license and some travel will be required.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in civil engineering from an accredited four-year college or the ability to obtain the degree within nine months of hire date.
The ideal candidate will have experience in any of the following:
- Modeling software (CAD/Civil 3D).
- Passed Fundamentals Exam (EIT) or ability to within six months of start date.
- MS Office suite of software.
- Survey or construction inspection.
