TITLE : Wealth Management Intern
DEPARTMENT : Wealth Management & Investments
PAY GRADE & FLSA : Grade 3 & Non-exempt
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsibilities focus on financial planning, relationship management and trust administration, and will also include exposure to investment research and portfolio construction. Work with trust and investment officers to learn basics of trust administration and compliance. Collaborate with other interns on a group project.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Good Written and oral communication skills
• Computer skills (Excel and/or Access)
• Self-motivated and a team player
• Ability to work independently
• Investment, economic and /or accounting classes completed
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
• Introduction to trust administration
• Understanding of financial planning process and its components
• Basics of estate planning documents
• Introduction to estate settlement
• Discussions about the economy
• Introduction to investing
• How stocks and bonds work
• Why people decide to invest
• Our rationale for providing custom portfolios to clients
• Process versus Outcome
• The difference between qualitative and quantitative factors
• Behavioral factors that can impact investing
• Assist with research and how it contributes to portfolio construction
• The role taxes play in making investment decisions
