Project Manager I
San Jose, CA

Your Tasks:


This position is primarily responsible for building an infrastructure and work plan for large, complex, multi-site, biologic development, tech transfer, and clinical manufacturing projects and serving as a primary interface for clients and senior level internal stakeholders regarding the execution of project deliverables and management.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Manage a portfolio of large and complex business relevant projects.

  • Serve as a primary interface with clients and senior level internal stakeholders regarding project management deliverables.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define scope and translate business strategy into project objectives, work plans, resource assessment, timelines and budgets.

  • Identify individual resource requirements and portfolio capacity needed. Work with departmental heads and external clients to identify and assign individual responsibilities.

  • Develop and execute integrated detailed project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.

  • Monitor and maintain project metrics on budget, schedule, resource allocations, issues, risks, and scope change to ensure project performance.

  • Rally team members and clients to an approach through root cause analysis, logical deduction, personal presence, and meeting management. Drive team meetings and deliver timely and accurate meeting recaps and status.

  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.

  • Create a positive environment by working collaboratively, energizing others and encouraging continuous improvement from project teams.

  • Evaluate reduction in internal costs during project execution.

  • Report project status to key internal and external senior level stakeholders identifying risks and critical milestones.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:



  • Bachelor's Degree in a science-related discipline, e.g. biology, chemistry, biotechnology, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, genomics, pharmaceuticals, engineering, etc.; A minimum of 2+ years project management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must be proficient in a wide range of project management skills, including complex scheduling, project budgeting, contract execution, change control, cross-team leadership, risk mitigation, gap analysis, internal/external communications and GMP requirements.

  • Previous Biotechnology research and development, technology transfer, and/or clinical manufacturing experience with multi-site project management preferred.

  • PMP Certification preferred.

  • Will be required to work onsite three days a week

Work Environment:

This job is performed in a temperature-controlled facility without exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures. Generally, this job is performed in a sanitized laboratory setting and routinely uses standard medical and research equipment such as centrifuges, biosafety cabinets, microscopes, incubators, pipettes and computers. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to blood, viruses, bacteria, body fluids and other tissues. Employees entering and leaving the laboratory must wear appropriate clothing and protective equipment such as scrubs, coveralls, masks, glasses and gloves. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The anticipated base salary range has been established at $100,200 - $135,600/year. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialization, skills, abilities, and training. The above salary range represents the Company's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. In addition to your salary, the Company offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, vision, and dental insurance, plus a 401(k) plan. All benefits are subject to eligibility requirements. Certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses or commissions.
