The Manager of the Physician Team is responsible for overseeing and growing the physician team, while also running a full desk. This role involves management, business development, full-desk recruitment, staffing, interviewing, and ensuring compliance within the physician team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of healthcare practices, and the ability to foster a collaborative and efficient work environment. This is primarily an in-office role.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

  • Provide leadership and direction to the physician team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Conduct and provide feedback and coaching to physician recruiters.
  • Promote continuing education and professional development opportunities for physician recruiters.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings to discuss goals, updates, and areas of concern.
  • Provide direction to meet department and individual production goals by creating strategies to improve production and efficiency.
  • Provide and document coaching, counseling and/or mentoring sessions with recruiters.

Recruitment and Staffing:

  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top physician talent.
  • Collaborate with Director of Recruitment to post job openings, review applications, and screen candidates.
  • Conduct interviews and evaluate candidates to ensure they meet the qualifications and cultural fit for the organization.
  • Coordinate the onboarding process for new physicians, ensuring a smooth transition into the team.

Business Development:

  • Identify and target potential clients within the healthcare industry to generate new business opportunities.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet business development goals.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities within the healthcare recruitment space.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers at healthcare organizations, including hospitals, clinics, and medical practices.
  • Present recruitment services and solutions to prospective clients, highlighting the value and benefits of partnering with the organization.
  • Negotiate contracts and service agreements with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial terms.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to understand their staffing needs, challenges, and expectations.
  • Provide ongoing support and follow-up to clients and candidates throughout the recruitment process.
  • Address and resolve any issues or concerns that may arise during the hiring process.
  • Ensure a high level of client and candidate satisfaction by delivering exceptional service and support.

Recruitment:

  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to attract top physician talent using various channels, including job boards, social media, networking events, and professional associations.
  • Proactively identify and engage with potential candidates through cold calling, networking, and other creative sourcing techniques.
  • Maintain a robust pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future physician openings.
  • Provide candidates with detailed information about the job roles, responsibilities, and benefits of working with the organization.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with candidates throughout the recruitment process, ensuring a positive candidate experience.

Administrative and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all client and candidate interactions in the recruitment database.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on business development and recruitment activities, including metrics on performance and outcomes.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes that may impact recruitment strategies and practices.

Requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and analytical skills.
  • 3+ years of Physician Locum Tenens / Travel Staffing Experience.
  • 2+ years of Leadership or Management in a Staffing Agency.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with outstanding organizational skills, delegation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Business and human resource acumen coupled with an ability to understand client requirements.
  • Initiative to follow through on tasks and work in a fast-paced environment while working with a sense of urgency.
  • BS or BA Degree required.
