**Job Title:** Cardiovascular Technologist I
**Job Specialty:** Cardiac Cath Lab
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** 8 Hrs 5x8 Hr
**Guaranteed Hours:** 40 hours/week
**Experience:** Entry-level
**License:** ARRT Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV) or successful completion of Paramedic training program within 12 months of hire
**Certifications:** BLS must be current upon hire
**Must-Have:** Associate’s degree or higher; Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited educational program or successful completion of Paramedic training program
**Job Description:**
- Work under immediate to general supervision of a mentor/preceptor to deliver specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services.
- Provide safe, high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care and support services.
- Prepare patients for procedures and correlate clinical history with procedures ordered by physicians.
- Communicate and collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care team members to achieve desired clinical outcomes.
- Utilize specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment and techniques for diagnostic, interventional, and surgical procedures.
- Conduct post-procedure reviews to confirm completion, documentation, and technical quality consistent with protocols.
- Transfer images and data to appropriate archival systems; enter technical data/findings for physician reporting.
- Perform operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, disinfecting, and maintenance per guidelines.
- Participate in continuing education, professional development, and research activities to maintain competencies.
- Demonstrate skill in applying principles of cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology, and medical ethics.
- Maintain accurate records and work accurately with names, numbers, and codes.
- Exercise discretion in handling confidential information and sound judgment.
- Remain calm in stressful situations and demonstrate attention to detail.
- Display initiative and commitment toward completing assignments efficiently.
- Work and communicate with staff, patients, and families in a professional and compassionate manner.
