Garver is seeking a highly motivated Traffic Engineer in either our Round Rock or Austin, TX office to add to our growing traffic and transportation planning team. The ideal candidate would have 0-5 years of related experience, a sharp technical background, and strong passion for the profession. The position will offer the candidate an opportunity to play a key role in analyzing and designing exciting projects for our DOT and municipal clients across our client footprint.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Performing traffic and safety studies
- Assessing traffic and crash datasets
- Performing traffic simulation and level of service analysis
- Developing access management plans and lane configurations for new or modified alignments
- Developing traffic signal timing plans
- Preparing summary documentation and reports
- Coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams and communicating concepts to clients
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in civil engineering
- EI/EIT certification or ability to obtain in 1 year
- 0 - 5 years of experience with traffic specific projects
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Must be licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) or have ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- Working knowledge of the Highway Capacity Manual & Trip Generation Manual
- Working knowledge in capacity analysis, traffic projections, and safety analysis (including HSM)
- Working knowledge of traffic simulation programs (VISSIM, CORSIM, etc.), Synchro, and HCS
- Experience in analyzing intersections, interchanges, and roundabouts
- Experience in Transportation planning and travel demand modeling (TransCAD)
- Experience using ArcGIS for data analysis including review of large sets of crash data to spatial map and analyze for trends and clusters.
- Experience with pedestrian and bicycle improvement projects and studies
- Experience working with State Departments of Transportation and various municipalities
