If you have:
- 3-5 years of experience as a Professional Lines Insurance Underwriter required (Errors & Emissions)
- A bachelor's degree in insurance and risk management or related field
- Experience working for an MGA
- Experience creating and placing new business within the independent retail agency systems required.
- Strong understanding of key drivers of profitability and operational performances
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite products and ability to adapt and learn new software systems
- Professional verbal and written communication
- Must possess initiative and drive and have the ability to work in a productivity-based environment
- Strongly detail oriented
- Must be customer focused
- Working with the client in establishing a proprietary professional program
- Prospecting and appointing agents to distribute professional products
- Working with existing carrier appointments to facilitate overall growth
- Educating and training existing agency appointing on professional products
- Quoting all new and renewal professional business
- Monitoring industry trends
- Leading the development of product enhancements
- Reviewing underwriting results to determine improvements and new business opportunities
- Working closely with IT and Operations Management
- Overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development opportunities
- Analyzing underwriting data to determine approval for risk selection, coverage, and price
- Preparing for carrier audits and responding to findings as required
- Traveling upwards of 25% to agencies for development and maintenance of professional business relationships
