Real Estate Attorney

This role requires managing both lender and borrower side transactions with proficiency in leverage transactions, and having experience with preferred equity and joint ventures is highly advantageous. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and negotiate commercial real estate transactions on behalf of lenders and borrowers.
  • Analyze and structure financing arrangements including leverage transactions and equity./li>
  • Advise clients on the legal and business implications of their real estate and finance strategies.
  • Draft and review transaction documents and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Facilitate communication and document flow among all parties involved in transactions, including clients, opposing counsel, and transactional partners.
  • Stay updated on market and legal developments in commercial real estate and finance to provide proactive advice to clients.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • JD from an accredited law school and strong academic credentials.
  • Active Bar admission in any state, with a preference for Maryland.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial real estate finance law, including both lender and borrower side transactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex negotiations and transactions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven track record of managing client relationships and maintaining high levels of client service.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in leverage transactions.
  • Knowledge or experience in preferred equity and joint venture agreements.
  • Experience serving as primary legal counsel in significant real estate transactions.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to mentor and lead junior attorneys and support staff.
