Express Employment Professionals is seeking a Collections Investigator for an opening in Nashville, NC.


As a Collections Investigator, your goal is to locate leased property (cars, trucks, boats, etc.) when loans have been defaulted upon. This is accomplished through research, analysis, and relationship building, with the goal of recovering the financed property. This sort of investigatory work requires persistence and a penchant for research.


This is a full-time opening (40 hours/week), in-office in Nashville. Compensation for the role includes a base of $20.00/hour, with opportunities for commission. Benefits include Paid Time Off and 401k match.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Use multiple databases and tools to locate people or property.
  • Build successful relationships with contractors and clients to service accounts.
  • Obtain any necessary documentation or guidance to pursue defaulted property, such as credit applications.
  • Provide frequent updates to summarize progress made throughout the process.
  • Use independent judgment and discretion to ensure compliance with all state and federal codes, regulations, and laws that pertain to the position.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, along with a professional demeanor and presentation.
  • Strong analytical, administrative, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations pertaining to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) or Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA).
