General Surgery Locums Job in Texas Seeking 24-hour Call Coverage Ongoing Starting in 2025
We are seeking a General Surgery Locum Tenens for an ongoing assignment starting in 2025. This position requires Board Certification/Eligibility and an active unrestricted Texas medical license. The position will primarily provide weekday 24-hour call coverage, with weekend coverage to be determined later. The candidate will perform Bread & Butter General Surgery coverage, including daily patient rounding, consults, emergency surgeries, and follow-ups while on site. The hospital has over 100 beds, mid-level support, and multiple employed General Surgeons on staff to assist with call. The hospital is a Level II Trauma Center and uses Epic EMR.
Coverage Details for Assignment :
Board Certification/Eligibility Required
Active unrestricted Texas medical license required or IMLC (IMLC Must be Active at time of Present)
Primarily Weekday 24 hour call coverage/Addition of Weekend 24-hour call coverage will be determined at a later date
Bread & Butter General Surgery coverage
Will be completing daily patient rounding, consults, emergency surgeries and follow-ups while on site
100+ bed hospital
Mid-level Support Available; Multiple Employed General Surgeons on staff to assist with call
Level II Trauma Designation
Epic EMR

Requires no appointment or privileges denied, revoked, terminated
Never had a license to practice denied, revoked, restricted or suspended
Not under investigation related to clinical competence, ethics by any state licensing agency
