About the Role:
We are looking for a Diagnostics Lab Tech to work in our Omaha, Nebraska location. In this key role, you will work closely with a small team to process culture submissions, run microbiological tests, and provide accurate results for use in the manufacture of vaccines.
Responsibilities:
- Process bacterial culture and tissue submissions.
- Isolate, culture, and identify microorganisms using standard testing procedures.
- Provide accurate reporting into the database.
- Freeze down cultures for further processing and use in vaccine production.
- Perform additional testing as requested including but not limited to PCR, in-vitro antibiotic sensitivity testing, gram stain, toxin testing, SDS-PAGE, western blotting, ELISA, and sequencing.
- Maintain reagents and equipment in the lab.
- Use good aseptic technique to process and culture samples.
- Every day is a little bit different so you learn new things constantly!
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, Animal Science, or related field preferred. Will consider Associate’s degree with relevant experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of bench work with microorganisms, preferably bacteria.
- Good problem-solving and math skills.
