Position Overview

As the Senior Director of Sales, Americas, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our sales operations across the Americas for our overall Integrated Performance Solutions (IPS) activities in the region. This is a key leadership position where you will have the opportunity to drive profitable sales growth and lead a high-performing team. Your strategic vision and leadership will be instrumental in expanding our market presence and achieving our ambitious goals.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sales Leadership:

  • Craft and execute an innovative sales strategy for the Americas that aligns with our growth targets.
  • Lead sales operations across diverse regions and business segments, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
  • Stay ahead of market trends to identify growth opportunities and implement strategies that expand our market share.

Financial Performance

  • Drive sales and gross margin growth across all regions and business segments.
  • Manage and optimize the sales pipeline to achieve consistent growth and high conversion rates.
  • Develop sales budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics to ensure financial success.

Sales Team Management & Development

  • Lead and mentor a diverse team of sales directors and global account managers, fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Implement talent management practices to attract, develop, and retain top sales talent.
  • Promote collaboration and the sharing of best practices across regions.

Customer Relationships

  • Build and nurture strategic relationships with key clients to ensure their satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Lead high-level negotiations and contract management for major accounts.
  • Ensure the sales team anticipates and meets the evolving needs of our clients.

Market & Competitive Intelligence

  • Stay informed about market dynamics, competitor activities, and industry trends.
  • Use market intelligence to inform sales strategies and gain a competitive edge.
  • Regularly report on market conditions and strategic initiatives to senior management.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration

  • Collaborate with R&D, production, and marketing to ensure cohesive execution of client projects.
  • Facilitate the flow of market and customer information to support product development and operational improvements.
  • Align corporate resources with customer needs and market demands through collaboration with the Sales VP in the EMEA region.

Integration Post-Acquisition

  • Lead the integration of new teams and businesses acquired through mergers and acquisitions.
  • Ensure smooth transitions and align newly acquired entities with the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Maximize the value and performance of acquired assets through strategic initiatives.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (ideally chemical), packaging science, sales, or marketing.
  • 15+ years of progressive sales and business development experience in a B2B environment, including strategic account management.
  • Knowledge of the plastics packaging industry is a plus.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate diverse teams and achieve ambitious goals.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time across North and South America, with occasional travel to Europe.
