Data Steward - Digital Modernization Impact Zone
Introduction:
We are seeking a Data Steward to join our Modernization Impact Zone Delivery & Implementation Team.
The Data Steward position will interact with business stakeholders across the enterprise supporting the Account Opening & Reference Data Modernization initiative.

Job Summary :
Supports Data Stewardship for the Account Opening & Reference Data Modernization initiative.
Plans and deliver definition, creates architecture deliverables from assessment & design phases with support from lead architects
Maintains business Architecture knowledge base blueprints
Prepare end-to-end documentation needs including data gap analysis of historic to new system implementation.
Northern Trust use the DCAM model as the data management / governance framework.
Prepares and maintains definition of Data Products and the Owners of those products as required
Identifies possible data owners for the different Data Elements (DEs) and Critical Data Elements (CDEs) that the Data Domain Lead to work with on transitioning ownership and responsibilities over time.
Identify and document data lineage in Collibra Data Catalog (MVP) for all CDEs required for project with an eye to how this will be maintained during the modernization project and subsequently as we transition into BAU
Document data aggregations and transformations for DEs/CDEs with all required metadata properties.
Document Data Quality requirements for both producers and consumers of CDEs and Data Products required for the project with an eye to how this will be monitored / maintained during the modernization project and subsequently as we transition into BAU
Establish Data Quality identification/ remediation processor
Review and approve Data Quality test scripts in UAT and PROD environments.
Ensure Data Quality rules and dimensions are implemented throughout the data lifecycle.
Establish Data Quality reporting metrics/cadence. Identify/document data gap analysis between new systems and legacy “heritage” systems, which includes what possible transformations would need to take place or what type of disaggregation of the legacy data is required for the transition to be as successful as possible.
Partners with Data Architect, Business Architect and Mesh enablement to ensure that the required data is gathered in the appropriate priority and is appropriate for the final data product.
Create/host training sessions on data literacy so data personas understand responsibilities and requirements.
Partner with AORD/DG teams to manage execution of responsibilities
Knowledge/Skills:
Senior data steward / BA experience with complex data environments where quite a lot of investigation and analysis is constantly required. Ability to handle running into roadblocks and moving around them.
Data Steward Financial Services experience in Settlements and Corporate Actions
Familiarity with DCAM framework.
Familiarity with Mesh concepts and Azure cloud computing.
Familiarity with Delta Lakes, medallion (aka Raw, Base, Consume) architecture
Excellent SQL and other languages may be necessary
Experience with Collibra
Experience with Agile
Ability to work to priority list and tight schedules
Ability to propose solutions to both business and IT
