Yahoo Sports is looking for an experienced Account Director to further the development of our strategic sales efforts and revenue pipeline across current and prospective advertising partners. This role will report directly to the Head of Revenue for Yahoo Sports and will integrate deeply within the premium sales organization within Sports to understand, define, and execute on our revenue goals. We are seeking a candidate who has depth of experience selling premium advertising offerings, developing strategic proposals and plans for large scale spenders in the category, a granular understanding of the Sports digital media landscape, and polished strategic relationship management skills.


To be considered candidates must live within commuting distance to our NYC office.


Responsibilities:


  1. Identify and prioritize high-potential target clients for Yahoo Sports’ premium advertising solutions.
  2. Develop and execute a sales strategy to meet or exceed revenue targets through the sale of Web and mobile, Video and audio, sponsorships, editorial integrations, social integrations, and custom programming development.
  3. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, from prospecting to contract execution and beyond.
  4. Stay abreast of key industry trends and competitive offerings to inform content, product, and media narratives in the market.
  5. Create and present proposals that address the client’s specific business objectives and marketing challenges.
  6. Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure that bespoke ad deals are tailored to meet the client’s needs.

Qualifications:


  1. 5 - 7+ years of relevant experience in direct sales for a Sports media brand.
  2. Deep understanding of the Sports media environment, including the ability to speak knowledgeably about industry trends and client challenges.
  3. Strong track record of success in meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  4. Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and develop compelling proposals.
  6. Substantial experience presenting to existing and prospective clients.
  7. Established relationships with key contacts at holding companies, agencies, and client direct marketing departments.
  8. Ability to understand and leverage data and insights.
  9. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple client relationships and opportunities.

The compensation for this position ranges from $188,625.00 - $393,125.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
