SciTec has an immediate opportunity for a talented Senior Systems Engineer to support our programs delivering Next-Missile Warning software. This is a unique opportunity to join a small business delivering core capabilities for defense. You will work within a fast-paced team delivering end-to-end software processing of Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) sensor data for Missile Warning, Missile Defense, Battlespace Awareness, and Technical Intelligence. Candidates will develop and implement model-based systems engineering processes in support of the large Agile software development program. SciTec seeks a candidate who will thrive in an environment where they can solve challenging engineering problems in support of critical security objectives.


Responsibilities

  1. Developing and implementing systems engineering processes aligned with IEEE 15288.
  2. Mentoring other SciTec staff in systems engineering processes and methodologies.
  3. Coordinating between customer representatives, program managers, software developers, and other members of the systems engineering team. Effective verbal and written communication skills are key for this role.
  4. Designing and modeling systems architectures for remote sensor data processing systems. Developing design artifacts using Model Based Systems Engineering.
  5. Managing systems engineering staff and contractors in coordination with the SciTec program management team.
  6. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science.
  2. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance.
  3. Ten (10) years of professional experience in engineering, computer science, or remote sensing.
  4. Five (5) years of experience specifically in systems engineering.
  5. Two (2) years of experience specifically with MBSE.
  6. Detail oriented.
  7. Good verbal and written communication skills.

Candidates who have one or more of the following skills will be:

  1. Domain experience with remote sensor systems or software architecture, especially experience with OPIR sensor processing.
  2. Experience supporting systems engineering programs in the defense and aerospace fields.
  3. Additional professional experience in systems engineering beyond five years.
  4. Familiarity with the Cameo/MagicDraw family of tools.
  5. Experience with Agile software development methods.
  6. Demonstrated experience in program management and project leadership. Familiarity with the Earned Value Management System is a plus.
  7. Graduate degrees or coursework in Systems Engineering or related fields.
  8. An active SECRET DoD security clearance or higher.

The pay range for this position is $131,000 - $181,000 / year. SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
