MG+M The Law Firm (MG+M) is seeking an Office Manager to join our Chicago office. This highly visible position will oversee and assist with the day-to-day administrative and HR operations for Chicago.
MG+M is a nationally recognized litigation law firm concentrating on complex civil matters. Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead Chicago recruitment efforts
  • Administration of onboarding/offboarding for all Chicago hires
  • Oversee/approve PTO requests & staff timecards
  • Administration of annual review process and compensation evaluations
  • Employee relations management
  • Assist with building morale through effective communication, leadership, and engagement of team in collaboration with the attorney teams
  • Assist with organizing and coordinating team member events, team-building activities, and social gatherings to build relationships and promote a sense of camaraderie and connection
  • Assist with workflow coordination among legal administrative assistants and paralegals and assist with attorney oversight/workflow, all in collaboration with the attorney teams
  • Assist with the supervision, training and development of administrative staff in collaboration with the attorney teams
  • Assist in the preparation of annual office budget
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong team management and leadership skills, with a proven ability to develop and lead in a client service-focused environment
  • Highly effective communications skills and ability to communicate credibly and diplomatically with all levels in an organization
  • Ability to anticipate and to strategically address challenges
  • Ability to independently assess internal firm needs and to develop and lead responsive solutions
  • Strong sense of accountability, taking ownership over projects and responsibilities and resolving issues proactively
  • Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure
  • Experience working in a law firm is preferred, but not required

Qualified applicants will have a B.A. or B.S. in a related field and five or more years of experience with legal or other professional service organizations. Other requirements include an understanding of human resources and office coordination/management.
