Position Summary:

Position will operate as a member of the Application Services team, responsible for developing advanced technology solutions to meet the current and growing demands of the Credit Union. Individual will be responsible for understanding, analyzing, and translating business needs and product requirements into technical solutions with very little supervision. Individual will engage and partner with stakeholders across the organization throughout the development, execution, and testing phases of assigned initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  1. 20% - Perform programming tasks according to established company, department, and project standards. Implements code that is clear, concise, tested and easily understood by others.
  2. 20% - Work cross-functionally with product teams, project managers, business analysts, stakeholders, and other engineering teams to create fast, intuitive, stable, and easy to use software to meet the needs of the organization and our members.
  3. 20% - Analyze program specifications for completeness and conformance to standards with little to no supervision.
  4. 20% - Implement new features, troubleshoot bugs, and assist in the support of production incidents.
  5. 10% - Designs, creates, and executes system integrated test plans and automation scripts to validate application functionality.
  6. 10% - Perform a variety of actions that evaluate and improve department systems, processes, and applications. Provides new feature time estimates for system changes and assists in implementing modifications.

Requirements:

  1. 3-5 years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering.
  2. Additional two years of relevant experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.

Required Knowledge, Abilities, Skills:

  1. Proficient in multiple industry-adopted programming languages.
  2. Collaborative and team player attitude with excellent communication skills both written and oral.
  3. Must adhere to the work schedule and attendance policy established by the manager.
  4. Must be able to confidently interact with technical, non-technical, and management staff.
  5. Proven ability to not only build technology solutions but explain your solution architecture and technology choices to enterprise Architects and senior leadership.
  6. Must be able to speak English fluently.
  7. Must have strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  8. Experience and/or understanding in Financial Services, or related industry is a plus.

Desired Education, Experience, Knowledge, Abilities, Skills:

  1. Proficient and dedicated to writing reliable, testable, maintainable, and performant code.
  2. Performs code reviews, code merges, and design reviews with peers.
  3. Designs functional system integration tests and automation scripts where applicable.
  4. Experience working in large, enterprise level programs/projects, preferably with a background in Financial Services.
  5. Ability to effectively coach and mentor more junior engineers.
  6. Strong experience working between multiple projects simultaneously, with varied degrees of complexity and duration.
