This role focuses on creating and maintaining programs and working with hygienists, dentists, and office teams to give clinicians tools and education to optimize oral hygiene care delivered to patients. The Director/Manager of Hygiene will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the following:
- Periodontal diagnosis and treatment standards of care
- Soft tissue management clinical culture
- Hygienist advocacy and communication
- Training and continuing education opportunities for clinical teams
This position requires regular travel around the Great Lakes region to provide face-to-face education and training to clinicians and their teams. Additional training, mentoring, and coaching may be needed using virtual solutions like Microsoft Teams and Zoom. This position will be work-from-home when not traveling. The candidate must have a sound understanding of pertinent clinical metrics and be able to identify opportunities for improvement. Excellent coaching and development skills are required. Experience in project management, program creation, and post-implementation evaluation are required.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Help to recruit and onboard dental hygienists
- Introduce and support best practices to help hygienists continuously improve periodontal management
- Provide clear expectations for dental hygiene coaching and accountability
- Develop KPIs related to hygiene and periodontal diagnosis
- Perform regular analysis of program ROI and provide feedback to Chief Dental Officer on program successes and barriers
- Identify top hygiene performers for potential leadership and/or mentorship roles
- Develop and deliver training designed to promote quality, patient satisfaction, and dental office success
- Work with vendor partners to optimize CE and training opportunities
- Collaborate with the Clinical Leadership Team and work with corporate departments including Business Intelligence, Information Technology, Purchasing, and Operations
- Participate in and adhere to departmental budgets

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Licensed Registered Dental Hygienist
- Experience in a regional or enterprise-level role in Hygiene leadership
- Minimum of 5 years Dental Hygiene experience
QUALIFICATIONS
- Track record of mentorship or teaching experience
- Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and programs at the same time
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both orally and in written form
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Travel required up to 75%
- Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time
