This hybrid, full-time role is open to our San Francisco location.

We are looking for an exceptional person to join our North America team as a Senior Associate, Media Strategy.

As a Senior Associate, Media Strategy you will work with client teams to drive media results. You will work closely with your Account Managers and other Senior Media Managers to develop and execute media campaigns tied to everything from newsjacking and thought leadership to product and corporate news. You love a good story and building relationships, staying on top of news trends, and providing recommendations for engaging with media.

Daily You Will:

  • Consume news and look for ways to get clients to be part of the broader conversations driving news cycles.
  • Be a part of the team that serves as the engine of client campaigns and programs, driving activities with determination and enthusiasm to deliver results that will make an impact for the client’s business, and make your team shine.
  • Be organized, thorough, motivating, and always remain curious.
  • Understand client objectives and know when to escalate or flag something up to leadership when the situation calls for it.
  • Assist with various PR4Hotwire activities, positioning Hotwire as an industry expert among key influencers as a part of the media strategy team.
  • Be the eyes and ears of your clients’ industries, ensuring your account teams are up to speed on what’s happening across the wider sector.
  • Constantly build your media and sector knowledge and develop proactive story angles.
  • When needed, develop client call agendas before calls; take detailed notes to map out action items and owners post-call.
  • Communicate with clients – on the phone, by email, and in person.
  • Brainstorm new ideas for integrated comms campaigns and media storylines.
  • Pitch, network, and converse with a range of influencers across tech and business publications to secure regular coverage in target outlets.
  • Create client-ready written materials (i.e., press releases, pitches, speaking and award abstracts).
  • Track and deliver status updates and metrics reports that show impact.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships and open communication with day-to-day client contacts.
  • Deliver assigned objectives on time and within budget.
  • Volunteer time to serve other teams or new business efforts to maintain full utilization.

You’ll Bring:

  • Experience story mining and pitching on behalf of B2B tech companies/clients.
  • Media relationships with various publications in a variety of industries.
  • 2-5 years of media experience (required) as an agency AC/AAE/AE or in-house comms or media specialist.

Compensation Range: $67,000 - $85,000

The range listed is just one component of Hotwire’s total compensation package for employees, which includes bonus opportunities and a variety of benefits mentioned above. Hotwire takes into consideration a candidate’s education, training, and experience, as well as the position’s work location, expected work to be performed, required travel (if any), external market and internal value, and internal pay alignment when determining the salary level for potential new employees. A potential new employee’s salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.
