Description

The Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine at the University of Washington, School of Medicine is recruiting for a full-time faculty member at the Assistant Professor rank (without tenure due to funding) with a secondary appointment within the Department of Global Health in the newly established Global Cardiovascular Health Program. Assistant professors (WOT) are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct global health research in cardiology and have a strong commitment to patient care, scholarship, and medical education. This position will be expected to engage in clinical activities.

University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. The anticipated start date will be November 1, 2023.

The base salary range for this position will be $16,250-$33,333 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Other compensation associated with this position may include an administrative salary supplement (ADS), moonlighting opportunities, and incentive through UW Physicians practice plan.

Applicants must have an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and be board certified/eligible in cardiovascular medicine (or foreign equivalent). Successful candidates must have an academic track record with evidence of publications and external grant funding. This may include a current career development award or fundable score. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
