Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The incumbent in this position under the direction of the Director - Finance, will assist with the hiring, training, supervising and evaluating of the Warehouse/Receiving team including safety issues.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (These functions are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position)

  1. Schedules all Warehouse/Receiving employees to ensure adequate coverage at all times.
  2. Staff, interviews, hires, provides timely evaluations and provides coaching or progressive disciplinary actions of employees as applicable.
  3. Trains all Warehouse/Receiving employees.
  4. Ensures proper debits and credits are processed and signatures are obtained regarding all paperwork transactions.
  5. Ensure all warehouse inventory par levels are maintained/adjusted according to business demands/volumes – timely ordering of all warehouse inventory items.
  6. Maintenance of all inventory par levels according to business volumes/usage.
  7. Manage and maintain department annual budgetary numbers.
  8. Maintain waste reports working closely with the Accounting Manager.
  9. Process of accurate receiving paperwork working closely with Accounting Manager.
  10. Ensuring accuracy/quality of all delivered/received items/services.
  11. Ensuring all delivered/received items are distributed/processed in a timely manner.
  12. Ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all items stocked/pulled.
  13. Ensuring timely and proper rotation of all inventory items – FIFO.
  14. Ensures inventory waste is kept to a minimum.
  15. Daily walk-throughs of all inventory locations including freezers/coolers checking dates on all items ensuring quality usable product is being stored.
  16. Communicates excess inventory levels effectively with F & B management.
  17. Ensures continual monitoring of all freezer/cooler temperatures daily.
  18. Ensures all warehouse equipment is in proper working order.
  19. Ensures safety compliance at all times.
  20. Responsible for the inventory of all warehouse storerooms on a monthly basis as scheduled and assists in researching/locating variances as necessary.
  21. Reviews/Updates inventory requisitions.
  22. Ensures inventory product is being charged out at proper averaging cost.
  23. Ensures the security of all warehouse inventory locations at all times.
  24. Ensures all storerooms are maintained in a clean, neat, organized manner.
  25. Maintains a positive demeanor and promotes morale.
  26. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director - Finance.
  27. Must comply with all Departmental Standard Operating Procedures and Indiana Gaming Regulations.
  28. Adheres to all Indiana Gaming Regulations.

Non-essential Job Functions

  1. Attend seminars when needed.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: (Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)

High School diploma, GED, or equivalent. Minimum 5 years casino warehouse management experience or prior Receiving experience as well as five (5) years prior supervisory experience. Four (4) years college degree with three (3) to five (5) years of payroll and accounts payable experience or a combination of education and/or experience preferred. 10-key adding machine experience is also preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):

  1. Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Indiana Gaming Commission.
  2. Must successfully pass background check.
  3. Must maintain strict confidentiality relative to financial data and casino policies.
  4. Must successfully pass drug screening.
  5. Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.

Knowledge Of

  1. Procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications such as word processing, email, spreadsheets, and databases to include excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  2. Reviewing inventory stock levels and placing orders to maintain par levels.
  3. Excellent work ethic.
  4. Organizational skills.

Ability To

  1. Be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
  2. Communicate effectively with outside contacts and all levels of team members.
  3. Obtain and maintain all appropriate licenses/certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
  4. Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  5. Write routine reports and correspondence.
  6. Speak effectively before groups of guests or team members.
  7. Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  8. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  9. Interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner.
  10. Promote teamwork and a constructive work environment.
